About the Author
Pastor Black was born a middle child on August 29, 1960 to Robert and Elder Catherine Jackson in Brooklyn, New York. She was saved and baptized at the age of nine. As a teenager she began to search the scriptures for herself with Sunday School not being enough. She mothered seven children mostly as a single parent by the age of 35. She is now married to Essence Black and has been pastor of The Way Church of Christ in Brownsville, Brooklyn, New York since February 2004. She is also grandmother of five and founder of Brownsville Matters a movement to stop joining gangs and join a Church in Christ's name.

Astonishing

Into each life some rain must fall is a striking good book. From the moment you begin it pulls you in and takes you on a wild journey. You get to see struggles that people deal with from all walks of life. You also realize that there is hope for them in the Lord. This book is very realistic and entertaining. I would definitely recommend it to my friends and family.

The book was well written and relatable

The book was excellent. From the very start of the book you are drawn in and anticipating more! The characters were realistic and down to earth. The story line was easy to follow and to envision as you went along. You felt as if you were a part of the story and going along the journey with the characters. It was very enlightening and gave just enough spiritual reference to keep things clear for those that may have had some biblical questions. It was a real page turner, and kept you wanting more. The broad spectrum of characters made it more realistic and and never became confusing. The worse part was knowing that the book was coming to an end. You came to know the different characters and their different life experiences and to both negative and positive outcomes. Even when the outcome wasn't favorable, they still remained faithful to God and ultimately had a positive experience. These are true life lessons that we all endure at sometime or another in our lives. It's good to know that even in the bad times when we are going through the storms of life that we can seek the shelter of the Lord and come through safely and have a testimony. I'm definitely looking forward to there being a part two to see the new developments of the characters which I have grown to love and become accustomed to. I would recommend this book for people of all ages to read, and those that might be struggling spiritually.

Some stories are not so bad. Others...well I found them boring. Perhaps I was expecting something more. Definitely I will never turn on with a gay trying to have straight sex with a woman (The Challenge story).
Frankly, I started to read fast but now my speed have slow down... And I don't know if I will finish it. Sorry..

Some stories were better than others, while some I couldn't believe I read it. Maybe if they were longer and had a chance to develop, I would like it better. Still most of the stories themselves, I just do not see a hope for a quality read.

This book is really really good, and I only found one issue that should ...

This book is really really good, and I only found one issue that should have been covered but wasn't. I would have liked to see up to a chapter on strategies and methods for adjusting mix ratios. There are several different methods that can be used (filler, moving different components, adducts, etc), but none of those strategies were mentioned. This is really a glaring omission in what is otherwise a very complete book. That said, it is probably a good 4.5 stars: better than 4, but less than 5.

Awesome Book

This is a very well written reference book. If you have a little background that would be enough to get you through this material. I bought the book to help me troubleshoot an epoxy issue I have at work and I found all the information that I needed (between this book and another written by the same author "Handbook of Adhesives and Sealants". Both compliment each other very well.

Simply great...

This is a book well worth reading, largely due to the very remarkable cast of characters filling its pages. Dave Moore, who has been the scoutmaster of Hmong Boy Scout troop 100 for the past 30 years, has chronicled 12 of the young men who have become Eagle Scouts. His earlier book, "Dark Sky, Dark Land", described the early years of this troop and the newly arrived Hmong immigrants who were its first scouts. "Trustworthy Loyal Brave" looks at the `next generation' of Hmong scouts. Some are sons of original Troop 100 scouts, while others have arrived from refugee camps in Thailand. Dave Moore tells of their lives, their struggles, their aspirations, and their successes. They have become a NASA engineer, a state senator, a dentist, served in the Coast Guard and Army, but whatever they are doing, they are clearly valuable men in their communities and their country.

While the book tells of 12 scouts, there is another Eagle Scout here in the book. Though he is modest in relating his own role, what Dave Moore has given as a scoutmaster, a mentor, and a friend would make a story in itself. It is a tremendous example of what one man can do through `being there' for others. Those who have shared scouting with Dave Moore are fortunate indeed.
