Yes, I am a medical doctor from Brazil, and even though I am a foreign medical doctor, I can tell you that the Kaplan medical Books...
well, it makes us just one under the sun, as it is available for everyone to buy, for everyone to see, that medicine is just one, no matter where you go, so I would say, that a cell, is a cell, and it is a cell....Now we can read it anywhere, on an iPad or an iPhone what's new, or what's trending, new medical terms, Terminology, treatments; diagnoses; and signs and symptoms of diseases. Kaplan Medical books, have helped me a great deal since I bought.
I love high-yield books, therefore, the medical Kaplan Books - as they say "The Kaplan notes" are just what I need, to give me sufficient up-to-date information on all kinds of diseases, ex: internal medicine, ob/gyn, surgery...etc.

Great book at a great value.

Rhonda is the best at the algebra series of books. I used algebra to test out of remedial math when I first started school, and just used her college algebra/precalculus books to skip the math needed for physics and chemistry. She presents the material in digestible chunks. You do have to be diligent in your work, but as long as you put in the time, you will learn it. Great books at great values!

Tierney is University Professor and Wilbur-Kieffer Professor of Higher Education and Director of the Center for Higher Education Policy Analysis at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles. He has conducted research on colleges and universities for twenty years, the results of which have appeared in numerous journal articles, book chapters and books. His most recent book is Trust and the Public Good: Examining the Cultural Conditions of Academic Work.

Nice survey of the American for-profit university, and beyond

I teach a graduate course related to the history of the American university. One of the revolutions I teach about is the rise of the for-profit university. This text covers the topics well starting from an explanation of what they are (how they and their faculty are so diverse from one another), their purposes, related legislation and politics, accreditation, and the major question among traditional higher educators, whether they do or do not provide a true public good.

The prose is well written, albeit slightly dry. Yet concise enough to be interesting. Not something I would ever read for pleasure, but for academic purposes, I think the authors have done a very nice job.

Sorry, I did not really enjoy this one...It was a short story, so I understand how difficult it must be to strike a balance between keeping the story short and sweet, but also revealing enough information to draw a reader in. For me, this just did not have that balance. I couldn't get lost in this book like I usually enjoy doing. It seemed disjointed and rushed.

I wasn't very invested in the characters because they just weren't developed--there was no depth to them. Therefore, I didn't really care what happened to them. The events were so rushed and the chapters ended so abruptly that it felt disjointed to me. I didn't feel like there was time for the story to develop. It seemed like a list of events,there was no natural flow to the plot.

On a positive note, I did think the story ended in the best way it could have.

Good for late level 1 students

As a piano teacher, this level 1B duet book was my Christmas gift to several of my beginning students. My kids I gave it to really enjoyed it. (More so than I expected!) It does contain eighth notes, so there's the catch. If the child is still in the Primer volumes, most of the arrangements are beyond his/her grasp, but for my mid to late level 1 kids, they were perfectly capable of getting up to speed on many of the songs. Then, as a teacher, you have a volume that is still okay when they reach level 2! The first few pieces are in C position, then there is a section of G position pieces, and then there a couple of others towards the end in "different hand positions", but should not be issues for most capable students. There are a few arrangements the kids will know (Oh Susanna!), but most are just fun simple arrangements that they can enjoy playing with their teacher, or sibling, or parent at home who plays. As a teacher (and a couple of my parents have commented), we really appreciate duet books because playing with another individual really makes the child count - and not "guess" at it!

Get the Hiccup Waltz

The Hiccup Waltz is a favourite in our family, I couldn't tell you how many of our students have played it as well. It's a fun, catchy piece that can be played by two beginner students, especially if you have an older or more advanced student who is more comfortable with reading the bass clef.
We bought the book just for the Hiccup Waltz, and use the other songs occasionally as well.

this is such a wonderfully inspiring book..... its a fast read, it'll have you laugh out loud and in tears as you read about how God can and will move in your life.

This book was over too soon. This is a great read for anyone who wants to press in deeper to God and know more about praise and worship. I hope everyone reads it.
