Very good information for those of us who appreciate instructional guides targeted to our specific professions.

I appreciate the information in this book. I've been digitally watercolor painting for about a year for landscape architecture presentation graphics. The process has been tedious and long because I was using watercolor brushes instead of textures. The results are nice, but they take a long time to produce. The techniques in this book have sped up my rendering by days. DAYS! It does take practice to develop the right eye for choosing the textures, but once you find ones you like, you can use them over and over. I've even started making my own for a well rounded library, but there are a lot available online for free. Trees and people are harder to find, but there are techniques using photoshop filters to turn digital images into watercolor type entourage. You can also purchase watercolor entourage, but it's VERY expensive.
There are a series of exercises in the book that take you through each of the techniques for plan, elevation, and axonometric views. They can be done in a few minutes if you have your textures and linework ready to go. On that note, my only complaint with the book so far is that the exercise files and textures aren't available somewhere for download so you can do the exact ones in the book. It's not necessary to learn the techniques, but I think it would be nice to have everything provided so I can follow along. A quick search through youtube will bring up similar techniques for creating renderings with textures, but I like how this book is targeted to designers and takes me through creating the different types of presentation graphics we use as designers using the watercolor techniques. Overall, I'm very pleased with the book.
